Are you ready for the ultimate trekking challenge in the heart of the Himalayas? The Dhaulagiri Circuit trek takes you through some of the most remote and spectacular landscapes of Nepal. You’ll cross high mountain passes, trek through dense forests, and explore traditional villages that have remained unchanged for centuries. This is a journey that will test your limits and reward you with unforgettable memories.
The trek starts with a drive from Pokhara to Beni, the starting point of the trek. From here, the trail gradually ascends through terraced fields and lush forests until you reach Dharapani. The following days will take you through remote villages, past cascading waterfalls and over high mountain passes. You’ll spend two days acclimatizing at the Italian and Dhaulagiri Base Camps, before embarking on the challenging French Pass and Dhampus Pass. The trek ends in Jomsom, where you’ll take a short flight back to Pokhara.
Before embarking on the Dhaulagiri Circuit trek, it’s important to be in good physical condition and to have some previous trekking experience. Altitude sickness can be a real danger on this trek, so it’s essential to take acclimatization days seriously and to follow your guide’s advice. The best time to do the trek is from March to May and from September to November when the weather is clear and dry.
